Today's best basement finishing designs often involve making the basement feel and look like the rest of the house. A very popular trend is to open up the stairwell going down to the basement as you would typically see with stairwells above grade. A long walled stairway signals that you are going down into a basement. Pictured is a creative way to use Pole-Wrap to open up a wall that commonly contains a structural support column at the bottom of the stairs.
We recently came across this wonderful historic ad featuring Genuine Lally Columns for Sale in 1922. More commonly referred to as the "basement pole", this ingenious product was invented by John Lally way back in the late 1800s. Today, this structural support column is still preferred among home builders for its ease of job site installation, fireproof, load bearing and space saving advantages.

We had a great time shooting (and got to tour the town since it is where Mr. Deeds was filmed!). We are fortunate to have such a talented video crew working on this production. The final video will be posted within the next two weeks, until then here's a preview!

American Legion Post # 209 in Scotch Plains, NJ. August 15, 2015 -- Scotch Plains had a flash flood and the American Legion’s basement was ruined. The Home Depot in Watchung, NJ came to the rescue and remodeled the entire basement at no charge. Leo Geib an Assistant Store Manager from that store called and asked for us to donate Pole-Wrap for the project. Product used to finish three 4 inch diameter columns was Oak Wrap (model 85168) with Oak Cap & Base (model 85CB40). Product was fini
Here is a recent photo from one of our many satisfied customers which illustrates Pole-Wrap's attractive, compact design. A perfect space saving application for this musician's sound studio which is filled with equipment. A bulky square finished column wouldn't be nearly as desirable or as cool!
It started with a call to Grace Keros whose grandfather had founded the American Coney Island. Constantine "Gust" Keros started as a street vendor in 1917 on this very same famous corner in the heart of Detroit. Pole-Wrap owner Laurie Coleman had heard Grace being interviewed on the radio for a segment called "Women Who Lead". Laurie remembered that Grace's popular downtown restaurant had two prominent structural support columns in the front window that would be
